Oral Mucosa

The oral mucous membrane is that the tissue layer lining the within of the mouth Associate in Nursing consists of stratified squamous animal tissue termed oral animal tissue and an underlying animal tissue termed plate propria. The rima oris has typically been represented as a mirror that reflects the health of the individual. Changes indicative of sickness are seen as alterations within the oral mucous membrane lining the mouth, which may reveal general conditions, like polygenic disease or nourishment deficiency, or the native effects of chronic tobacco or alcohol use.
